Just Help One…

Michael’s Way helped 177 students further their education to obtain a job or a better paying job.  Many students have been able to fulfill a dream — or begin one.

The Need Is Great and Growing!

With today’s high rates of unemployment in our community, the need for our services is great and this need is growing daily.  Our funding has allowed our students to receive technical training that helps them break out of poverty.  With Greenville Tech’s Quick Job Program (90 days or less), students can be trained rapidly in order to be “work-ready” for our community’s workforce.  Since no state or federal funding is available for Quick Jobs courses, Michael’s Way is unique in offering funding for this program which improves the health of our community.

Michael’s Way has found an innovative way to move people out of poverty and into financial stability.  Continuing education provides the opportunity to make that dream a reality. Our students have taken the first step when they come to us.  Today, we don’t find them—they find us!

How You Can Help?

Join our Just Help One Campaign and sponsor one or more students.  Courses range from $475 to $2,000.  An average cost per student is $1,000.  If we all Just Help One, we offer a bright future for those looking for a better life and a way out of poverty.  What greater way to participate in your church’s outreach and mission component?

Sponsor a person in need and allow us to keep you informed of his/her progress. These are real folks with real needs.  Help give them the chance they deserve!  Wouldn’t it be a wonderful world if we could wipe out poverty – - if everyone had the opportunity to find a better way to provide for themselves and their families?

A Different Way to Donate

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Your donations, especially in-kind donations, are greatly appreciated. However, we have improved our system.

Michael’s Way welcomes financial donations for our mission to help adults break out of poverty through education. Your donation will fund adults in need of a technical certification course, work-related clothing shoes, exam fees, to become “work-ready” to return to our community’s workforce.

A Different Way to Donate

In addition to financial donations you can donate goods to Support Outreach Services – - SOS Thrift Store. Many of our clients do not have the appropriate clothing for interviews. SOS will help them get to that next step for a job or a better paying job.

When you drop off your donation do so in the name of Michael’s Way.

70s Disco Fever Sponsorships Available!

I was surprised to discover that the minimum wage in South Carolina does not allow a family of four to live above the poverty level.  A gap of $3.95 per hour (or $158 per 40 hour week) exists between the minimum wage and the wage needed to live above the poverty line. Closing the gap through education and training can make the difference to so many Greenville families struggling to survive.

Times have changed. Most entry-level jobs now require additional technical training, certification, or specific skills in order to compete for non-minimum wage, higher paying positions. In today’s economy, even skilled, experienced workers are facing layoff, plant closures and other industry changes that leave them in dire need of alternative career planning and retraining.

Michael’s Way is a 501(c) 3 non-profit dedicated to helping low-income adults break the cycle of poverty through educational opportunities that lead to better jobs and higher incomes.

Attached are our upcoming 70′s Disco Fever fundraiser sponsor level opportunities and ways for you to support the Michael’s Way mission.  Your sponsorship will allow us to play a meaningful role in improving our community’s economic health.

I will be following up with you soon to discuss how we can partner to fund these educational opportunities for families who need our help.  At the end of our fiscal year, you will be sent a progress report on those for whom you have made a difference.

Thank you for helping Greenville families to live a better life.

Sincerely,

Michael’s Way, Inc.
